Jestrivo is an inventory, point of sale and accounting service for businesses, on the web and in the Jestrivo mobile app for Android and iPhone. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Who is responsible
A business that uses Jestrivo decides what it records about its own customers, suppliers and staff, and is responsible for that data. Jestrivo keeps it safe and processes it only to provide the service. For your own account, Jestrivo is responsible.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number, password (stored only in scrambled form), role and branch.
- Business records you enter: products, stock, sales, receipts, customers, suppliers, expenses, payments and the photos you add (products, expense receipts, logos).
- Sign-in and security records: when and from which device you sign in, and an audit log of important changes.
- Phone app: a name for your device, and if you allow notifications, a notification token so we can send you alerts. Sales made without internet are saved on the phone until they upload.
- Payments for your subscription: the plan, amount and payment reference. Card payments are handled by Paystack; we never see or store card numbers.
The app uses the camera only to scan barcodes and take photos you choose to save, and Bluetooth only to print receipts. We do not collect your location, contacts or anything else on your phone.
How we use it
- to run the service: sign you in, keep your business's records, print and send receipts, and produce reports;
- to send messages you need: receipts, approvals, stock alerts, reminders and subscription notices, by email and in the app;
- to keep accounts secure and prevent misuse;
- to answer your questions and support requests.
We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that help us run Jestrivo, and only what each needs:
- our hosting provider, which stores the service and its database;
- our email provider, to deliver emails;
- Paystack, to process subscription payments made online;
- Google Firebase, to deliver notifications to your phone (only the notification token and the alert text);
- Open Food Facts, when you look up a ready-made product: only the name or barcode you typed is sent.
A product you choose to share with the Jestrivo product catalogue (its name, brand, barcode and photo, never prices or stock) can be shown to other businesses after we review it. We may also disclose data when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep business records while the business uses Jestrivo, because sales and accounting records must stay complete. When a business closes its account, its data is deleted or anonymised, except where the law requires us to keep it longer.
Security
Connections are encrypted (https). Passwords are stored scrambled, sign-in is rate-limited, each phone has its own sign-in that can be revoked, and staff only see what their role allows.
Your choices and rights
- See and correct your details in your profile (web or app).
- Switch off email notifications you do not want, and phone notifications in your phone's settings.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for your account to be deleted: see delete your account.
Children
Jestrivo is a business service and is not meant for children under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell account owners about important changes.
